Republicans have spent much of 2026 hearing variations of the same warning: Midterms are historically brutal for the president’s party, Donald Trump’s approval rating is underwater, Democrats are energized, and the GOP’s narrow House majority is living on borrowed time.

Well, Republicans finally have some good news. And unlike some of the usual partisan polling hopium, this one is worth paying attention to.
