Legal Experts Call for Ethics Investigation Into J.B. Pritzker After Brazen Lie About Chicago Homicide Rate

In a moment that should haunt every aspiring Democratic presidential hopeful—Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker was utterly dismantled on Fox News, his brazen fabrications about the city’s murder epidemic laid bare by host Bret Baier and unassailable FBI data.
Pritzker, the billionaire heir to a hotel fortune who fancies himself a progressive savior, dared to claim Chicago’s homicide rate had been “cut in half” and that the city wasn’t even “in the top 30” nationally.
Baier, unflinching, flashed a 2024 FBI crime map showing Chicago’s rate at a staggering 17.47 murders per 100,000 residents—the highest among America’s largest cities, topping Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York.
“Governor, here’s a map—Chicago, number one,” Baier pressed, as Pritzker squirmed and deflected with talk of “violent crime” trends, insisting yet again on his halved-rate fantasy.
This wasn’t a slip; it was a calculated lie from a man whose policies have presided over a decade of Chicago’s unchallenged reign as the nation’s murder capital, with 573 homicides in 2024 alone.
