Matt Taibbi, a well-respected journalist who states that he has "voted Democrat his whole life," laid bare the "censorship-industrial complex" in a statement before the House Oversight Committee on Tuesday.
Taibbi argues that the dismantling of the consensus-building closed information loop requires much more than the surgical shuttering of USAID and the dissolution of its government slush fund for radical "non-governmental organizations" — it requires a massive overhaul of state-media relations.
